My friend owns a small business and keeps her own manual accounting system using a general journal and ledger. However, lately she's been doing a lot more business and needs to know how to modify her current manual accounting system to accommodate for this new business. She usually checkes her ledger by using a trial balance. She definitely does not want to switch to using a computerized service. Thanks

She should definitively give up her manual accounting system. I believe that it makes her lose much time! Tell her that she should have a look at tiolive. This is the online accounting software that I'm using. She will not have to deploy it but just to connect to it after a registration. Moreover, she will find tutorials on the website. And, if she has got any problems, the support can help her. But, seriously, making manual accounting is not a potential solution anymore nowadays!
