Yahoo! Answers: obtaining a different IP address?

Thank author of this post/commentHopefully someone can help. I have a small business where I have 5 employees (a couple of them overseas) working from their homes as virtual assistants for my business and when they do work for me on these business sites, it has now become important for them to have a US based IP address. How can that be achieved, costing as little as possible. I heard that one way would be to somehow log onto another server and surf from there, and that servers IP would show up. I think hiding the IP or surfing using proxies would be a problem. I think it would need to show up as a valid IP from some server vs. a bogus one. Any info on a way or web address of a Co. offering this service would be greatly appreciated.

Thank author of this post/comment"Easy as pie!"

Setup NAT on one of your servers. Then setup openVPN on the server and your workers PC's.

It's a good idea even if they are in the USA. That way anyone snooping on their connection (like from a public wifi spot) will not see any of their work related traffic.

There have been a lot of virtual assistants who are successful in working from home or in the office. I may say that the work of a virtual assistant is not really easy. In fact, it is challenging for you to meet the expectation of your clients and to meet the deadlines given to you. But of course, it is well compensated so it is worth it. Great day.

Hi there! More and more companies are taking advantage of the services of virtual assistants. Aside from the fact that you don't need to provide them with a physical office, you can also save a lot of money because you can only ask them to work for you as per order. This is the phenomenon right now and it works for a lot of people. Enjoy their services! Thanks.

Having an IP address from another country is an issue for some who are hiring virtual assistants. It is nice of Jim to share this tip how to go about it. Another option is to hire virtual assistants from the same region unless, of course, you want to save on VA fees. Fees from certain countries are cheaper.

I am confused as to how one can actually obtain a different IP address than what the users are actually using. Is that really legal? Or is it like many other things done on the internet, not actually wrong unless you use it to break the law in some way, or not actually wrong until someone makes a law against it? Please someone explain this to me.
